Ron McLean's Visitor Maps

Locations of visitors to this page

There are several maps that show where the "visitors" to my various web sites and web pages are located.

The links to the web pages are at the bottom of this page.

There are 3 styles of map.

  1. Maps from gvisit.com using Google Maps.

  2. Maps from Site Meter visitor counters.

  3. A map from ClustrMaps.

After reading comments about their service in my BLOG

ClustrMaps

upgraded my account and I created a page with their maps.

I have created a page that displays the visitors to
Cards From Ogden Point
with a map and a list of visitors using information from

The maps and pages in Sections 1, 2, and 3 of this page are directly from the various map service pages and are not operated or endorsed in any way by Ron McLean and/or Cards From Ogden Point. I use the services only to create the maps. I have no control over the links on and/or contents of those pages.

The location accuracy depends on the accuracy of the IP locator data base used by each of the map services. The three services used for this page give different information about some visitors. Visitors from large ISP's that operate in several cities/areas may indicate that the visit is from the wrong location. Often that will be the location where the ISP is registered, and in some cases it may be where the "signal" left the ISP's internal equipment and entered the open internet. For example I have shown up on Site Meter as if visiting from Vancouver and Kelowna as well as the correct location of Victoria on different visits even though I have not moved and my connection is at a fixed IP address.
